NFM is an independent, national 501(c)6 nonprofit organization that works to improve the quality of higher education by improving the working conditions of the majority of its faculty: so called "adjunct" or "contingent" instructors and researchers who now comprise 75% of all higher education faculty nationwide and are systematically denied access to the full range of professional support essential to excellence in higher education. NFM is committed to creating equitable, stable, non-exploitative academic environments for faculty and students through education and advocacy.
